IAN GEARY, painter

I am a Sheffield artist working in oils and watercolour, I exhibit at local events and galleries and have won several awards and commendations.

My flower-themed paintings are influenced by the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles. Using bold lines and flat colour the forms become simplified into semi-stylised patterns with a strong graphic basis.

In my latest paintings the floral content is reduced and other elements are introduced to give a colourful, themed still-life, with a more structured design.

I am presently working towards a one-man show scheduled for 2015.
