Trevor Neal – Artist

I am an artist based in the Sheffield with over 45 years experience in the art business.

I hope you can make the time to look at all my images and appreciate the level of expertise, my command of an ever widening use of media and substrate combinations, subject matter and imaginative use of imagery.

Carol Lambert – Artist

I am an artist based in my studio at Persistence Works, Yorkshire Artspace on Brown Street in Sheffield.

My practice: Drawing/ Painting/ hand printed Linocuts.

Drawing is always the starting point for my work and sometimes an end in itself.

I am fascinated by the power and magic of plants. I never cease to be excited and captivated by their ever changing, dynamic forms, new shoots emerging, leaves unfurling, petals falling, seeds dispersing etc.   Often it is wild plants (weeds) that attract my attention as in my work on show (until 15/6/14) in the ‘Printing Sheffield’ exhibition at the Millennium Gallery.

Sheffield and District Orchid Society

The Society was formed in January 1972 with the aim of promoting interest in orchids and their culture. Regular visiting speakers are invited to talk on particular types of orchids and how to best grow them. Members bring their own plants to provide a Table Show on which an experienced fellow member gives a commentary thus providing opportunites to learn more about a wide range of plants. Plants may be entered for judging by internationally qualified judges the Society having four, so qualified, amongst its’ membership.

Ian Geary

IAN GEARY, painter

I am a Sheffield artist working in oils and watercolour, I exhibit at local events and galleries and have won several awards and commendations.

My flower-themed paintings are influenced by the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles. Using bold lines and flat colour the forms become simplified into semi-stylised patterns with a strong graphic basis.

Jill Ray

Local landscapes are the inspiration for Jill’s work. Currently the trees and woodlands of Sheffield and around Chatsworth Park as well as the Edges and Tors of the Dark Peak.

Jill paints in oil on canvas, but also makes prints of digital images which are created using a PC and an iPad as a sketchbook.

Jill Says “My interest lies in the changing pattern of light, colour and rhythm in the landscape.
